Fitness in 100 words

  • “Eat meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch and no sugar. Keep intake to levels that will support exercise but not body fat. Practice and train major lifts: Deadlift, clean, squat, presses, c&j, and snatch. Similarly, master the basics of gymnastics: pull-ups, dips, rope climb, push-ups, sit-ups, presses to handstand, pirouettes, flips, splits, and holds. Bike, run, swim, row, etc, hard and fast. Five or six days per week mix these elements in as many combinations and patterns as creativity will allow. Routine is the enemy. Keep workouts short and intense. Regularly learn and play new sports. ”

Does anyone know where I can buy an abmat and a door frame pull up bar?

Thanks

Ged

Jo M (Toowoomba) 50:58 min road run in the rain.
Ged, www.justabmats.com.au are the Australian distributor. I have registered a purchase but don't have them yet. Not sure about the door frame pullup bar - if you google a search, there are a variety of them. Depends on if you want a straight bar or one with extra handles so you can do neutral grip and wide grip.

OK, so I looked at this from a crossfit point of view what is my weankess and what can make me a better allrounder?

So yes run being my weak point I pushed out a slow 63'51. Wow over half hour off my PB which was clocked 10 years ago now. The good old days of running sub 32 for the 10 km seem oh so far gone.

But just for some added morale I clocked in a 39'56 minute 2 km swim as well. Wow I think my first qualifier Ironman Tri-athlon I clocked 58 for the 3.8 km swim open water so far off pace.

But working on it................watch this space :)

Gerard

thanks Jo and mysterious unnamed person for the pointers.

Cheers

Ged. You can get a door pull up bar, mats, KB and DB from fitness store at Carindale shopping center. Not sure what it is called but it is on the outside of the shopping center on northern side. Near Creek Rd.
