Fitness in 100 words

  • “Eat meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch and no sugar. Keep intake to levels that will support exercise but not body fat. Practice and train major lifts: Deadlift, clean, squat, presses, c&j, and snatch. Similarly, master the basics of gymnastics: pull-ups, dips, rope climb, push-ups, sit-ups, presses to handstand, pirouettes, flips, splits, and holds. Bike, run, swim, row, etc, hard and fast. Five or six days per week mix these elements in as many combinations and patterns as creativity will allow. Routine is the enemy. Keep workouts short and intense. Regularly learn and play new sports. ”

Cassius

Well at least this one will be fun!

Lisa

Fun? I don't think my calves will agree with that after the canning they have had lately.

Shiela

I wonder what my arm is going to look like after this one... Might need to get padding... :)

Karel

I don't have a skipping rope. What would you say is a good sub?

Wendy S

total load 257kg
what a torrid experience!

Matt G

Hmmmm have to see if I can manage more than 1 in the 10 minutes and OMG hand stand. Is this suppose to be free hand stand or a wall stand for hand stand pushup ?

Cassius

Karel, go buy a 2 dollar skipping rope from Crazy Clarks you tight ass lol! There's no getting out of this one.....

Shiela

Ok don't judge me for I am a skiptard and did this rxd - I was very hard on myself and only counted the ones I made. Whipped myself a few times and my calves and shins hurt from pressure which I am currently rolling a baseball on. Anyway...

70 @ rxd

pitiful I know, but considering how skiptardy I am, I was happy to come out of it not looking like I've been beaten up like last time :)

Shiela

Ps. 5 minutes into it it started raining heavily and there was no way I was going to stop halfway through so I kept going... Slower than I started but oh well. I'll conquer these things one day

Pps. Has anyone seen where my pullup went? I think someone stole it when I was enjoying my Christmas feast...

Shiela

Ppps. I did a finisher of 100 sit ups and 50 push ups seeing my score was quite embarrassing :)

Lisa

Can someone explain the 1-10-1-20-1-30 sequence to me? I assume it is a declining % of 1RM although I have not seen any chat about rest periods. Thanks

Karel

Damn, I was hoping I could sub it with something easier... like burpees.

Roger

Finally got round to Nicole.. with the added joy of mossie attacks and soggy ground... and having noted the shared frustration about finding pull-up bars in public places I have bought a cheap set of Rings from eBay and using an adjustable luggage strap they can be used just about anywhere..... interesting pull-up variation...

joseph reweti

just need to know what rdx stands for next to the time of wods thanks

Matt G

Ok, with my skipping needing alot of work and on getting 1 DU last time, I managed 96. So an effort im kind of happy with. So much work to still do though. Hand stand was an expierence in its self and have two new coaches that are helpding me with my 5 year old that can hold for a PB of 17 seconds and my 8 year old that can get 1 minute 12.

robc

179 du x 10 mins = robc

2 min attempt h/stand against wall

Lisa,

rest as required between the sets. The first set is a heavy single, the second is the heaviest weight you can do 10 reps with, the third set is a heavy single (increment if you can), the fourth set is the heaviest weight that you can do 20 reps with etc etc

Very hard, Wendy can't walk today:-)

Cheers,
Matt

Lisa

Thanks Matt.
