Fitness in 100 words

  • “Eat meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch and no sugar. Keep intake to levels that will support exercise but not body fat. Practice and train major lifts: Deadlift, clean, squat, presses, c&j, and snatch. Similarly, master the basics of gymnastics: pull-ups, dips, rope climb, push-ups, sit-ups, presses to handstand, pirouettes, flips, splits, and holds. Bike, run, swim, row, etc, hard and fast. Five or six days per week mix these elements in as many combinations and patterns as creativity will allow. Routine is the enemy. Keep workouts short and intense. Regularly learn and play new sports. ”

Today, Friday Here,

Combat Fitness Test Challenge(CFT) A version I came up with to make the CFT seem easier. The CFT has rest times, and allows to calm dow nto complete the test, The CFT Challenge has no rest between stations, is partner based and used the drags and fireman's carry for a longer distance.

CFT Challenge
Run 800m
Then Right into
-100 15kg Push Press(Full Lockout and full drop under chin with pack or Ammo Can
Both you and Partner do:
-Sprint 20yrds
-Low Crawl 20yrds
-Hands and Knees Crawl 20yrds
-Sprint 20yrds to end of course
-Partner 1 sits down/Partner 2 reaches under Partner 1's arms and drags partner 1 40yrds
-Partner 2 then picks up partner 1 and fireman carries partner 1 to course Start
-Partner 2 sits down/Partner 1 reaches under Partner 2's arms and drags partner 2 40 yards
-Partner 1 then Picks up Partner 2 and fireman carries Partner 2 to course end
-Both Sprint Back to Start
-Both pick up 2 15kg packs or ammo cans and sprint to course end and back to start for completed time
This is the CFT Challenge

Cheers

Good girl Liz! That's a good effort on getting through 31 full pullups. I always find your attitude to each WoD inspiring. Talking with you before today (after we'd finished) you said your aim was to get through as many Rxd pulls as possible - some people in your shoes would've chosen to just do the whole WoD as jumping pulls rather than knock out as many as poss Rxd before scaling.

liz

Thanks Rach! I would have loved to just slog the whole thing rxd as you suggested, but knew that I wouldn't get through it in time. Hoping to add a few extra to each workout so that I can keep building capacity. The pullup bar at home is making an enormous difference! Have to say that today's workout wasn't too bad. I don't know how you, Anna and Yvette recovered from last Sat's workout, but I was a mess until Thursday.

liz

Rachel, just saw your time. Smoking!!

Thanks Liz, but it's just a WoD that plays to my strengths! Re last Saturday - yes I was really sore for a few days - didn't help that I backed it up with Cindy up here on the Coast first think Monday am. I cried when I saw it go up on the board!! :)
