Fitness in 100 words

  • “Eat meat and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch and no sugar. Keep intake to levels that will support exercise but not body fat. Practice and train major lifts: Deadlift, clean, squat, presses, c&j, and snatch. Similarly, master the basics of gymnastics: pull-ups, dips, rope climb, push-ups, sit-ups, presses to handstand, pirouettes, flips, splits, and holds. Bike, run, swim, row, etc, hard and fast. Five or six days per week mix these elements in as many combinations and patterns as creativity will allow. Routine is the enemy. Keep workouts short and intense. Regularly learn and play new sports. ”

My hands are still healing from Fran and Monday's WOD :-(

BTW, my dermatologist has recommended a cream called Dermadrate (around $20 for a huge bottle - available from chemists). As well as hydrating your hands, it contains 10% urea which removes the calluses. I realise that this sounds a bit gross, but it seems to be working really well. Of course, it may just be that I'm applying it more regularly than other creams I've tried (it's not greasy!)

matt

Liz, is that the same as peeing on your hands?

Paul S

I hope Cindy was not chosen on account of my guess at the end of Wednesday's session. I might be in for some grief from the 6pm crew tomorrow night (Thursday)...sorry in advance guys, especially Shane and Thom. I am sure Cindy will do us all good. Thanks Matt

Westy

Paul FTW! :)

liz

Matt, $20 a bottle really isn't that much...

Whitey

Yes Liz but you save $20 and its organic!!! he he he

Shiela

The last time I did Cindy I got 17 rounds using jumping pullups and knee pushups. This time I was 10 squats off of 9 rounds but I did band pullups and full push ups. I admit a couple of the push ups had me fall to my knees, but I know I worked harder than the first time and the intensity was twice as hard as the first time.

Danny: thank you for the wake up call I needed this morning. All I want to do is become a better athlete :)

Whitey

You had me thinking there Sheila about last time results!! I could only find last September where I punched out 15 with Jumping Pull-ups but then found last months effort at http://www.crossfitbrisbane.com/blog/2010/02/wod-monday-1522010.html#comments I completed 10 rxd then and today 11+Pull-ups&Push-ups! So I am happy with that!! Really need to sort my core out tho and also get the kipping thing working & muscle-ups and....................... oh I'll stop there!! lets just say I am not running out of goals anytime soon!!

Yvette, you were inspirational this morning knocking out 22 rounds! Awesome work. I realised I have to work on my push-ups - there's always something else to work on! : )

My first ever Cindy today - 12 rounds rxd. My pullups are coming along but still working on trying to get into a more consistent cycle and rhythm as I'm losing a heap a time....I'm sure I'll get there.

Agreed Lily, I was opposite Yvette during the WOD and she's a machine! I reckon I only saw her rest once....I won't tell you how many 'rests' I had....lost count....haha!!

CrazyRoss

I think I can not say this is Rx'd because of "UGLY" pistol.
I practised pistol a little bit as a standard pistol, but it is pain in the ass.

I need a good quality movement and technic for a better performance.

Thanks for that, Danny the coach!!

Kaliegh

YAC Crew- Cindy

Have lost accurate records so from memory it was:

Chris 16 full rounds
Kales 17 full rounds
Michael 25 full rounds

Substituted pull-ups for body rows as no pull up bar was available.
